Restaurant Opens in New Location on Tuesday, May 20

MIDLAND, Texas – Abuelo’s Mexican restaurant in Midland has relocated to a brand new location on West Loop 250. Abuelo’s new, larger restaurant is now located in front of The Commons at Northpark Shopping Center at 2908 W. Loop 250 North.

After 20 years of serving diners in Midland at our original location, we are very excited to open in our new location on the Loop,” said Craig Carpenter, Abuelo’s General Manager in Midland. “Our Midland restaurant has always been one of our very best performing locations, and we are so thankful to our guests here for their patronage over the years. We know everyone will love the new look of the restaurant, plus the great new patio that will be perfect for enjoying food and drinks, plus some live music.

The new, free-standing 10,250-square-foot Abuelo’s restaurant, which seats approximately 325 guests, features contemporary colors and artistic Mexican influences with an elaborate grand tower entrance. The main dining area includes a dramatic 30-foot ceiling with a sun-lit atrium, complete with towering trees and a decorative candle wall. The interior of the restaurant features hand-painted murals depicting Mexico’s rich and colorful history, as well as a large, contemporary bar area finished with extensive stone and decorative tile work.

The new restaurant also features a private party room with A/V capabilities for special events and parties, as well as a covered patio with 20 tables that will feature cocktail service and a modified appetizer menu.

Abuelo’s is famous for its creative, made-from-scratch Mexican food, superior service and affordable prices. The company recently introduced a new menu with many new dishes that combine traditional tastes with the rich, subtle flavors of coastal and interior Mexican cuisine. Abuelo’s House Specialties, which combine beef tenderloin, jumbo shrimp, tilapia, salmon and other top-quality ingredients with unique, homemade sauces, salsas and side dishes, have earned a reputation for “raising the bar” of Mexican food restaurants. The menu also features a wide selection of wood-grilled fajitas, hand-rolled enchiladas, chile rellenos, quesadillas and Taqueria-style tacos made with fresh, handmade flour and corn tortillas. Desserts include Abuelo’s award-winning traditional Mexican flan and Margarita pie with tequila cream sauce, among others.

“‘Our theme at Abuelo’s is ‘welcome to our home,’ added Robert Lin, president of Food Concepts International, Abuelo’s parent company. ‘Our goal is to offer our guests an opportunity to experience diverse flavors every day, in an authentic Mexican villa with superior service at a great value – whether it’s for a quick lunch with co-workers or a casual dinner with family or friends.'”

Hours for the new restaurant are Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Fridays and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. For more information, call (432) 685-3335.

Company remains committed to community despite ongoing highway construction

LUBBOCK, Texas – Abuelo’s Mexican restaurant in Hurst has relocated to a brand new location, due to the ongoing Texas 121/183 road construction in Northeast Tarrant County. Abuelo’s new, larger restaurant is now located at 850 Airport Freeway, just next door to the west of its original location, on the north side of Airport Freeway, west of cross street Bedford Road.

We very much wanted to remain in the same vicinity as we have a proven track record here and loyal guests in the Hurst area,” said Bob Oliviera, Abuelo’s General Manager in Hurst. “We are very excited to open our new location and know that our guests will be very pleased with the new look and design – and, of course, our same great tasting Mexican food and drinks.”

The design of the new, 11,200-square-foot Abuelo’s restaurant, which seats approximately 325 guests and employs a staff of 100, is based on classical Mexican architecture and artistic influences with an elaborate grand tower entrance. The restaurant is a complete $3 million-plus renovation of existing commercial/warehouse space. The main dining area features a dramatic 30-foot ceiling with a 900-square-foot sun-lit atrium, complete with towering trees. The bar area is finished with extensive stone and decorative tile work.

The interior of the restaurant also features hand-painted murals depicting Mexico’s rich and colorful history, as well as imported stonework and statues that are hand-carved by artists in the villages around Guadalajara, Mexico. The new restaurant, which is slightly larger than the original location, also features a private banquet dining room with A/V capabilities for special events and parties, as well as a patio for outside dining, a separate area for To Go orders and improved parking availability and access.
