Special Capirotada dessert and new entrée added for limited time during the holiday season

 LUBBOCK, Texas – This holiday season, Abuelo’s is spicing up gift giving with its annual holiday gift card promotion. The gift card promotion gives guests who purchase $50 of Abuelo’s gift cards a gift of their own – a $10 Abuelo’s bonus card to use in the New Year.

During the holiday gift card promotion, which runs through December 31, 2016, guests can purchase gift cards at any Abuelo’s location or online at www.abuelos.com. For every $50 gift card purchase, guests will receive a $10 bonus card redeemable at any Abuelo’s location from January 1 to March 31, 2017.

“Our holiday gift card promotion is a very good way for guests to get gifts for everyone on their list, as well as a gift for themselves,” said Robert Lin, president of Food Concepts International, Abuelo’s parent company.  “Abuelo’s gift cards make a great gift for family members, friends, co-workers and clients. We want our guests to be able to share the flavor of Mexico, and enjoy a gift from us, too.” Additionally, Abuelo’s is bringing back a sweet holiday tradition with its special Capirotada dessert, a decadent Mexican bread pudding that will only be available November 22 through January 2, 2017. Abuelo’s is offering Capirotada for a special price of just $4.99.

Abuelo’s also welcomes a new entrée during the holiday season. The new Pescado Mazatlán is fire-grilled Barramundi filets with shrimp and sea scallops in a light lemon sauce, topped with a cool cucumber salsa. This delicious, new entrée is available for a limited time in all restaurants during the holiday season only.

Restaurant Slated to Open in Pinnacle Park Development

LUBBOCK, Texas – Food Concepts International, parent company of Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurants, and Pinnacle Alliance Fund announced today that construction will soon begin on a new Abuelo’s restaurant in the Pinnacle Park, a 100+-acre mixed use town center in League City, Texas. This will be Abuelo’s second restaurant in the Houston-area and the company’s 40^th location nationwide.

Construction will begin in early 2017 on the approximately 7,600 square-foot restaurant in Pinnacle Park, which is slated to open in early Q3 2017. The restaurant will feature a natural light skylight over an interior courtyard with hand-painted artwork adorning the walls, greenery and traditional statuary throughout. The restaurant will also have a 2,000-square-foot, climate controlled outdoor patio with operable exterior doors that can be opened during nicer weather. The patio area will also be available for booking private parties and other functions.

$1 from every Chile con Queso appetizer sold November 7-11 will be donated to Homes for Our Troops

LUBBOCK, Texas – In honor of Veterans Day, Abuelo’s Mexican restaurants are pleased to support Homes for Our Troops and invite guests to enjoy Chile con Queso for a good cause during its “Queso for Heroes” fundraiser. Starting Monday, November 7 through Friday, November 11, Abuelo’s restaurants nationwide will donate $1 from the proceeds of every Chile con Queso appetizer sold to Homes for Our Troops, a national non-profit organization that builds specially adapted homes for severely injured Veterans.
