In 2016, Abuelo’s went on a search to create the perfect margarita. This journey led us to Jalisco, Mexico, home of the world’s most experienced tequila makers at Cuervo la Rojeña. For 250 years, blue agave has been cultivated and harvested at La Rojeña to make revolutionary tequila. It was here we fashioned our personal blend of Dobel Diamante. A smooth, complex balance of rich, savory notes from 100% blue agave. Our search was over. The El Jefe was born by infusing grilled orange slices with our Maestro Dobel tequila to create a one-of-a-kind flavor. This month, we celebrated 1 million El Jefe units sold.
